FAQ
Answers before you inquire.
How EdgePoint works, who it is for, how confidentiality is handled, and how to begin.
What exactly is EdgePoint?
EdgePoint is a curated, enduring community for exceptional leaders who want to keep developing through honest assessment, trusted peers, extraordinary counsel, and applied learning. Members enter through different experiences, but share a common philosophy and community.
Who is EdgePoint for?
EdgePoint serves senior executives, founders and early executives, leaders entering or expanding within the C-suite, experienced executives seeking deeper coaching, and accomplished former executives who want to contribute to the next generation. Fit depends as much on curiosity, courage, and generosity as it does on title.
What does every full member receive?
Every full member receives access to the private discussions within the EdgePoint Network and member directory, the Annual Leadership Check-Up and development consultation, curated learning and events, and opportunities for peer connection and consultation. Specific experiences add coaching, cohorts, specialized curriculum, or executive counsel.
Which experiences include full membership?
Membership, the Leadership Academy (Ascent and Summit), Private Coaching, Founder Studio, and Executive Partners include full membership and the Annual Leadership Check-Up. Stand-alone Executive Forums and Corporate Alumni participation include defined access to the EdgePoint Network but not the Annual Leadership Check-Up.
What is the Annual Leadership Check-Up?
It is a confidential, multi-source view of the member's leadership and team context. It typically combines 360-degree feedback, team insight, selected self-assessments, and an expert consultation that turns data into a focused development agenda.
What is EdgePoint Foundations?
EdgePoint Foundations is a mandatory 30-minute intake experience for Executive Forum participants. It ensures every leader enters their forum with a common understanding of our norms, a clear developmental focus, and the necessary context to be an effective peer contributor.
How much time does membership require?
Membership is designed to flex around the demands of senior leadership. The time commitment depends on the experience and the specific activities a member chooses. Immersive cohorts and coaching require more continuity than general membership. We will be explicit about expectations before a leader commits.
How are members selected?
EdgePoint is curated for fit. We look for leaders who see leadership as a serious responsibility, are willing to examine themselves honestly, value perspectives different from their own, and intend to contribute as much as they receive.
How confidential is the experience?
Assessment results, coaching conversations, and peer discussions are treated as confidential. Members choose what they share with sponsoring organizations unless another arrangement is explicitly agreed in advance. Community norms require discretion and respect.
Can my organization sponsor me?
Yes. Many members and experience participants are sponsored by their organizations. EdgePoint can speak with a sponsor about fit, goals, logistics, and responsible ways to understand progress while protecting the leader's confidential developmental space.
Can organizations create a cohort?
Yes. EdgePoint can explore custom cohorts, cross-company experiences, and alumni communities. We begin with the leadership population, business context, desired outcomes, and how the experience should connect to internal development.
What is the difference between Membership, Executive Forums, and the Leadership Academy?
Membership is the ongoing foundation: assessment, the EdgePoint Network, learning, and relationships. Executive Forums are focused peer groups and can be joined without full membership. The Leadership Academy (Ascent, Summit, and Adventures) provides immersive, structured cohort programs with a defined developmental arc and includes full membership.
Is Executive Partners currently accepting leaders?
Executive Partners is currently forming its founding class of Executive Fellows. We are accepting inquiries from accomplished former executives interested in the Fellow role, as well as senior leaders interested in being matched with a Partner during our inaugural cycle.
What does Corporate Alumni include?
Corporate Alumni is offered to selected alumni of programs delivered by Contemporary Leadership Advisors. It provides access to the EdgePoint Network and member directory, facilitated alumni Executive Forums, and occasional invitations to selected cross-company and social experiences. It does not include the Annual Leadership Check-Up.
What do you mean by "founder"?
Founder Studio includes not only the person who originated the company, but also — where appropriate — the early executives who helped build the enterprise and carry its earliest risks, choices, culture, and leadership.
Does Founder Studio include consulting for the whole company?
Founder Studio includes diagnosis, founder coaching, and initial action design. Broader company assessment, team facilitation, implementation, and sustained organizational support may be scoped separately with Contemporary Leadership Advisors.
How are coaches and Executive Partners matched?
Matching considers the leader's role, context, goals, industry where relevant, working style, and the kind of challenge and perspective most useful. The relationship must feel credible and generative to both people.
Is EdgePoint only for leaders in New York?
No. The community combines virtual experiences with selected in-person gatherings. Some experiences include required in-person elements in New York or other locations; each experience page will state those expectations.
How do I begin?
Request a conversation. We will learn about your role, context, aspirations, and current leadership edge, then help determine whether EdgePoint — and which experience — is a strong fit.
Still have questions?
A member of the EdgePoint team will respond personally within two business days.
